What are the CfRE governance and membership principles?
The ‘CfRE governance and membership principles’ is our governing document which lays out what the CfRE is set up to do, its structure and mandate, and offers guidance for our membership community. You can download the CfRE governance and membership principles here.
Who can become a member?
CfRE opens its membership to all institutions, organisations and individuals that support a better future for patients and society. We welcome members from all backgrounds and encourage a diverse community. These may include pharmacy groups, individuals, patient groups, regulators, researchers, academicians, community groups, faith-based organisations, non-governmental organisations, schools etc.
What are the benefits of becoming a CfRE member?
We aim to accommodate a diverse community of members. As such, all members are valued equally and their perspectives are considered regardless of status. Our membership offers a host of valuable benefits from access to relevant resources, training and events driving health equity initiatives to connecting you with relevant industries, research teams, patient groups, community organisations, and other key stakeholders. You will also take advantage of a complimentary profiling of your work and play a significant role in influencing other organisations. In general, your achievements become a powerful part of our collective impact to improve health equity for all.
What are the membership costs?
CfRE membership comes in three categories and while some offer free access, others may involve a fee.
Not-for-profit members are not required to pay a membership fee but are required to sign a membership agreement with the Nuffield Department of Primary Care and Health Sciences (NDPCHS).
For-profit or Industry members are required to sign a membership agreement with NDPCHS and pay a membership fee of £50,000 (excluding any applicable VAT which shall be charged at the prevailing rate) commitment per year for a period of 3 years– which may be adjusted as per the CFRE Board’s voted strategy and related budget.
Our Associate members commit to funding (for-profit organisations) or participating in-kind (not-for-profit organisations) in the CfRE’s specific [research] projects without being official CfRE members.
How do I apply for membership?
A formal application needs to be made to the CfRE Executive Director who then submits a recommendation together with the Executive Committee to the Centre Board for validation and approval. For-profit or Industry members can download the Word doc version of the application form and send to CfRE@phc.ox.ac.uk for review.
